Aboriginal prints are an attractive and affordable form of Australian Aboriginal art. Artists have expanded rapidly in their use of print making as a form of artistic expression.

There is now a wide range of etchings, screenprints and other limited edition works by both established and emerging artists from communities in the Kimberley, Central and Western Desert and Top End (including Arnhem Land) regions of Australia.

Prints are arranged by regions - click on the link to see works from a particular region. If you want to read a short biography of the one of the artists, go to the Art and Artists section of our Website.

Title: Wandjina IV
Price: $484.00 in Australia
$440.00 for Export.
PR504, 1999
Screenprint, edition size 99
76 x 56 cm
Wandjina can be seen in the passing of the dry season to ‘the wet’ in the form of vast billowing white clouds. In the late afternoon the rumbling of thunder and flash of lightning within the vast billowing clouds overhead mean that the long, hot build up of heat and humidity will break and once again the rain cycle will commence. In days when Aboriginal people were ruled by spirits of the land, the ‘build up’ was the source of ceremonial tribute, representing not only rebirth and growth, but also the cruelty of the storm and flood.

Title: Karrulyar
Price: $500.00 in Australia and Export.
PR107, 2002
Screenprint, Edition size 50
49 x 64 cm
This print depicts a tjurrnu, or soakwater, located on Helicopter's traditional country. It is known as Karrulyar, and is located far to the south of Balgo in the Great Sandy Desert. Karrulyar features in the centre of the print, and it is a place that provides dependable water only in the winter months. The country around Karrulyar is mainly flat and open. Surrounding Karrulyar, and dominating the landscape of the area, are tali, or sand dunes. The dot work between the tali depicts kamitji (bush tomato) which is commonly found here.

Most Wandjina images are found within the clan estates of the Ngarinyin people in the North Kimberley. Every Wandjina rock art image 'belongs' to one of the clans of the region, and the stories, songs, rights and responsibilities associated with that image are handed down through the generations.

Price: $495.00 in Australia
$450.00 for Export.
PR307, 1998
Screenprint, Edition size 75
43 x 63 cm
Tiwi art is linked to Tiwi creation stories and is often characterised by an abstract mixture of lines and dots originating from the decorative body paint used by the Tiwi during ceremonies. This contemporary work rarely has a narrative story associated with it, however, sculptural work often portrays key characters from the creation stories.
