Seasons in the Top End

Each month we bring you scenes and description from western Arnhem Land or other parts of the Top End (Tiwi Islands and Arnhem Land) - showing the country, bush food, and other aspects of Aboriginal life:

Kurrajong flowers
Red kurrajong flowers
Bark from the kurrajong tree is used by Aboriginal people of Arnhem Land to make fibre string and ropes. These can then be made into a variety of useful objects including baskets and belts.

 

Yolngu Art and Ceremony
