Paintings from NinukuPaintings from Nyapari - Tjungu Palya Artists

Gwion

Tjungu Palya is a collaboration of artists at Nyapari, Kanpi and Watarru communities in the so-called "APY Lands" in the far north of South Australia. The Lands are home to Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara speaking people. The region has four art centres including Ninuku, Tjungu Palya and Tjala Arts at Amata. Tjungu Palya operates from an art centre at Nyapari community. For more information, see our pages on Tjungu Palya artists and Participating Communities.

Tjungu Palya artists have rapidly established a reputation for very fine art that is rich in story and arresting for its innovation and freshness. Demand for their work is strong and there are waiting lists for some artists’ work. The paintings below are by Maringka Baker and Jimmy Baker, two of the best known artists working at the centre.

The prices are in Australian dollars and do not include packing, shipping and insurance - use the "Enquire" button to confirm availability of a painting and the cost of shipping. To check the equivalent price in other currencies, use the Currency Conversion link.

Works from Tjungu Palya are exempt from Australian GST, so the prices shown below for Australia and export are the same (unlike on some other parts of our Web site). For more details about shopping, see our Shopping and online security section. All of the paintings below are unstretched.
