Paintings from Kalka - Ninuku Arts

Ninuku Arts represents artists from two communities (Kalka and Pipalyatjara) in the western part of the "APY Lands" in the far north of South Australia. The Lands are home to Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara speaking people. The region has four art centres including Ninuku, Tjungu Palya and Tjala Arts at Amata.

Ninuku Arts (ninu means bilby in Pitjantjatjara) opened the doors of its mudbrick building in Kalka in August 2006. It originated in 2004 as a “start-up” project for all five western communities (those now encompassed by Ninuku and Tjungu Palya).
