Contemporary water colour artists of the
"Hermannsburg School" draw their inspiration
from Albert Namatjira and associated artists who began
painting landscapes in watercolour at Hermannsburg in
the 1930s. They live in Alice Springs, Hermannsburg and
nearby communities and most work at Ngurratjuta art centre.
Some of these artists are the direct descendants
of Albert Namatjira while others remember watching him
at work. For more information, see our pages on Albert
Namatjira, Hermannsburg artists and Hermannsburg.
The paintings below are unframed on acid-free rag paper. Paintings from the Ngurratjuta
art centre are exempt from Australian GST, so the prices
shown below for Australia and export are the same (unlike
on some other parts of our Web site).
Prices are in Australian dollars and do not include
packing, delivery and insurance - use the "Enquire"
button to confirm availability of a painting and the
cost of delivery. To check the equivalent price in other
currencies, use the Currency
Conversion link. For more details about shopping,
